This bulb is expensive. The light it cast is harsh and heavy on the magenta. It does not dim nearly as smoothly as an incandescent, must be fully warmed up before it is dimmed or it cuts out, and at its dimmest is still at about 40% brightness. There is a noticeable hum to this bulb.
