48 Feit Electric Conserv-Energy CFL Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs purchased from Costco.

Bulb was in upright Ikea floor lamp which was not enclosed. Base of bulbs melted black and burned. Acrid smoke filled our house while light bulb was still on. This is the second bulb that has burned within 1 year of purchase. Luckily we were home both times and smelled the smoke before it got worse.
The box says: "Lasts up to 9 years" LOL...less than 1 year for us.
And the bulbs are UL approved.
And it takes a long time to get rid of the smoke and smell. |
